Doug, with proper maintenance and cleaning intervals,  the standard blueing will be fine. If you plan to carry extensively in a pocket or in the waist band holster, I recommend the Cerakoted or Parkerized Slide over the Nickel Boron Slide. Body oils and sweat will have less overall effect on these compared to standard blued.

I don't think so but only you can answer that question they are a little more durable than a blued gun nut I like the way a blued gun looks better even when it has honest working gun finish wear. I carry a blued 1911 45 it has finish wear from the holster but I keep it oiled and like the way it looks
