Will this model accept a round butt grip even though it has the square style from manufacturer? Need to determine if internal framework prevents a round butt grip.

from what I understand all of the new S&W revolvers are a round butt they just put a square grip style on them I would verify this with S&W By Telephone:

Monty, yes Sir. The M29 has been offered in both Square and Round Butt configurations and you can convert to either with the proper Grips.
