yes it will handle 38 special and 38 special +p ammo with no issues and will be much more pleasant to shoot

Eric, Yes 38 special rounds will fit and fire in the longer 357 mag chambers in the cylinder. No problem with 38 Special +P rounds either. It's all in the description 357MAG/38SP.
