Mark, I could not find any information from HK that stated the thread protector was included, only that there are extra O-rings.

Mark, Absolutely thread protector is included. The picture doesn't show it but it comes with a thread protector and tall suppresser sights. I'm holding this model UPC: 642230247994 in my hand.
