Michael, the R51 has a moderate rack effort Sir as compared to similar sized 9mm Pistols..

Michael, This pistol will rack like any compact 9 mm. With training you can rack a semi auto without using your hand. Use your belt, edge of a table or anything you can push the the top of the slide/rear sight against. In my training classes we teach people with cerebral palsy, in wheel chairs, or with just one arm to rack a slide using other objects besides an opposite hand.

My buddies is pretty nice, slides nice and smooth, I didn't shoot it new so it was already well broken in.
