Brent, The 4 round factory magazine is flush on this model. This is just a stock photo.

Typically, Ruger supplies the rifles with flush fit four (4) round magazines.Looking at the picture, it appears the magazine on this rifle has a base plate, something I did not notice on the magazine I had just described. This leads me to believe that Buds is using a stock photo of another rifle in the American Series.

Brent, no Sir. Ruger went with an AI Style Magazine instead of their Rotary Type so the Magazine is not Flush Fit due to the Magazine Base Plate design. Many pictures out there (including Ruger) without the Magazine in the rifle.   ------   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jNvA2JXq8Y
