This holster was not designed to be worn inside the waistband. This is a paddle holster with a retention button that requires you to press it before you can draw the firearm. Due to this, it would not be able to be used as an IWB holster as you would have no way to release it easily if needed.

i find myself having to use both hands to pull my 45 shield out and if time is a factor you might be found behind, I'm looking for a good leather belt or shoulder rig.

you could try boiling it to fit better.
