Jack, you can fire slugs with the muzzle brake removed Sir. To properly "break-in" your TM 1950MB, we recommend 50 rounds of heavy game loads, high brass, or 3" magnum loads. Once your TM 1950MB is properly broken in, you should be able to cycle most factory 12 gauge ammo.
