Not sure about velocity, but the longer barrel should improve accuracy.

Alan, no Sir. Velocity in a 22lr will peak around 16 to 18 inches Sir. Accuracy is not determined by barrel length. I would go with 20 inch unless you specifically want a 24 inch 22lr.
