Matt, the Finish is Cerakote Battleworn USA Flag which is highly durable but, anything wears over time. That said, a Kydex holster will be fine. I put just a dab of dry silicon lubricant on my pistol/holster contact points which protects the finish and smooths the draw while retaining secure lock in.
As said, the finish isn't a paint but instead a Cerakote finish. It's extremely durable. I have a 43X that was cerakoted by Apollo Custom Coatings, and it's extremely durable. Many tests demonstrate that a cerakote finish provides considerably more protection and durability than a traditional blued finish.
Though the finish is quality applied, it is bound to fade is high use/contact spots. It's just the norm of things. If you can get a kydex holster with a soft lining on the inside of the holster that might be able to prolong the wear and tear on the finish.
