Jack, This is a all steel gun and one of the best handguns Taurus puts out.
Jack, I have the Taurus 1911 in both 45 ACP and 9mm. They are all steel (that why they are so heavy). Great guns to shoot though with not much recoil due to their weight especially in the 9mm.
It is all steel.
