Richard, this rifle has an 18.5" Cold Hammer Forged Medium Contour Barrel Sir. Being a Bolt gun, you are not likely to get into detrimental heat buildup with this configuration. That being said, it would take many, many back to back magazines of firing drills to over heat the barrel.

It is a bolt action rifle, so it won't heat up as fast as if it were a semi auto shooting round after round in a quick manner. Being a medium barrel, it will take a bit longer to heat up. If you shoot and reload in rapid successions then it will heat up quicker. The temperature of the weather will also affect your question at hand. If it is a hot day and you're not under shade then the barrel will heat up that much more quicker. There are many variables to take into consideration. At the same time, it will take a while to heat up on a "normal" day. It was my pleasure to assist you.
