I'm a California Resident, and looking at the Smith & Wesson M&P Sport 2 rifles.  I'm looking at models:  12938 and 12001. Besides the sights, are there any other differences???

James, no Sir. The sights are the only difference. Model 12938 is optics ready and f/r flip up sights can be added. Model 12001 has an A2 front sight post with rear flip up sight. The core rifles are the same. Cheers!
