Hello sweets! It's not nylon. This is an 11 inch aluminum handguard, according to Ruger. I think Ruger knows their stuff best.
Uriah, BUDS description says The Magpul M-Lok handguards are made from heat-resistant glass-filled nylon. The same UPC code on RUGER's site says 11" aluminum handguard is free-floated for accuracy and features Magpul® M-LOK® accessory attachment slots along the 3:00, 6:00 and 9:00 positions with additional slots on the angled faces near the muzzle. So as the lady from Nevada says trust RUGER's description on their website.
Uriah, this is absolutely, positively an Aluminum Hand Guard. (11" Aluminum free-floated hand guard).
