I'm curious if this slides over the buffer tube and is tightened down using what appears to be a set screw. Or, do I need to take off the Castle Nut and the buffer tube assembly for this sling mount?

Tim, No tube disassembly necessary; remove collapsible butt stock, slide on tube, position properly and secure with the set screw.
