I am 99% sure that the NEW winchester 101 has inertia triggers the original Japanese made 101 had mechanical triggers I suggest that you call winchester to be 100% sure I could not find it in the owners manual James provided 275 Winchester Avenue Morgan, UT 84050 800-333-3288 801-876-2711

checked with winchester and they said Inertia (inertia trigger is where the recoil from the 1st shot sets the trigger for the 2nd shot) the only time this would ever become a issue is if you are shooting it with a set of 410 tubes and then briley or kolar would convert it to mechanical
