.223 or 5.56 NATO rounds are fine. Not sure why the manual excluded this.
Hi David, 223 is actually loaded to SAAMI pressure and 5.56 is loader to higher military pressure. The manual is backwards. A 5.56 barrel can fire both, but a 223 barrel should not for warranty reasons.
I'm guessing you're new to ARs, but the rule is a 5.56 chamber will fire both munition's, but a .223 chamber can only handle .223rounds. If you're still concerned, just read the reviews and you'll see many people fire both out of this exact rifle all the time. Yours is actually a premium rifle for this reason. If I'm buying an AR, its gotta be chambered in 5.56 NATO.
