Looking to buy a home defense shotgun. I own a shotgun for bird hunting and trap which is way to long for in the house. Looking for some advice in brand and type . Saw those shockwaves and don't wanna make a mistake. Thank you for any information you might have.

Edward, I would highly recommend a shotgun with a shoulder stock. The shockwave, tac-14 and those types of shotguns are a handful and savage on the wrists and hard to control. Remington 870 is as classic as they come. If you really want something short, I would recommend a Remington TAC-14 with a stabilizing brace, at least then you'd be able to shoulder it somewhat and have decent control.

I prefer a pump action, full stock with a pistol grip, and a short barrel with changeable chokes.  Brand and price are up to the buyer.  go to your local gun shop or range, and see which you like the feel of.
