Yes, that is correct Carol on the CPX-1. CPX-2 = no safety.

Its a traditional thumb safety switch on the left side just below the slide. It cannot be seen on the right side. Use the 360 view on the full site view to see it.

The safety is actually ambidextrous and is visible and can be activated from either side. My wife carried one for a couple of years.

On the grip, no that is the mag release, safety is below the slide
