Vince, the Ruger GP100 is a solid revolver. There were some issues with cylinder lock up back around 2012 but, those issues were resolved by Ruger. It is a good shooter and will live many years. Cheers and you and yours stay safe.

Ruger makes a good revolver. If you like it, it would be a fine choice.

I don't really comment or answer much of any questions but I just have to respond to your question, the GP100 is AMAZING, The massive barrel and frame can handle tons and tons of hot loads and will last a very long time. I like it so much I have the blues 6 inch version and the stainless 6 inch version. I also have a a shorter barrel gp100 that I like to carry. These things are built tough! Ruger knows how to make a revolver. They have great weight and handle recoil easily. I like the ruggedness of the gp100 over my smith and wessons. I get good groups even with the short barrel. I love these wheel guns!
