If you're serious about quality and target sight picture I would go with something else. If you're on a big budget then I guess this will do.

You mean 22lr? If so this will be fine. It's definitely on the lower end but it does the job. I don't think there's need for an expensive scope if it's not needed. Plus I don't know of Marling making a high quality expensive target rimfire rifle. No offense. I also have a marking 22 but semi auto.

I always heard half the price of the gun for the scope. I usually go with about a third of the price of the gun. I don't do competitive shooting so this price range works well for me. I don't have a barska scope so I can not speak to their quality. If it is just for plinking you should be fine.

Ron, Barska is a good line of scopes given the good price point. It will be more than sufficient for your Marlin 22LR Rifle. I own a Barska Point Black and have had/used it on a Rock River Arms AR for over 6 years with zero issues and it hold zero well. Cheers and stay safe!
