I have read mix reviews about the recent series 70. How is the quality and finish on the recent batch of pistols? Do they still ship from the custom shop highly polished in a custom shop box or do they now ship in the blue plastic box like the series 80? Anybody purchased one recently?

Ships in a custom blue box. Finish seems to very wildly for everyone for some reason. But you have the right to refuse it at the FFL and send it back at no cost for a replacement.

Hi Tony, these now ship via custom box. I can't speak on any quality improvements but do know you tube reviews have been more positive than in recent years. You also have the option to refuse transfer at your FFL if you find anything you don't like on the pistol for a refund/replacement.
