I'm in the processes of filling out my HQL and completing the required finprinting. Which local gun shop or range is the best to work with? My overall question: What is the protocol for a successful overall transaction?

Richard, you can put in your Zip Code to see local Preferred FFL Dealers in your area to choose from by distance from your residence here  :  https://www.budsgunshop.com/ffl.php       ---  The process is straight forward - find a firearm - place it in your cart - select check out - select an FFL Dealer - pay for order and wait for shipping confirmation. Buds currently has a delay but, your selected FFL will call you when received and you will go in, do the paperwork, pay the $25 to $40 transfer fee and when approved, leave with your new handgun.
