I need to add to my question. "3 failures to extract in 30 rounds. Never happened before. I will go back with my original 6 rnd mags and try again with the same ammo. The gun has never had this happen before. Any ideas?"
The gun is a Colt Officers model .45 I have had for over 30 years. Never did this before. The mag is brand new. First time using it. Fits and seats fine, racks rounds through by hand fine. Just shot it the 1st time yesterday

Nathan, brand new magazines can have issues too. If you are using the same lot of ammunition and your 6rd magazine functions just fine through the same Colt Officers model .45, then the magazine is the issue. Still disassemble it, check for up and down smoothness of the follower, spring seating and try again. Cheers!
