I would recommend using the card to purchase a gift card for the amount of the purchase. I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advise. I have asked the ATF this question when I was working for a FFL. When you buy online as a gift you would have to have the persons' who's name is on the order do the ATF paperwork then transfer it to the person getting it as a gift. If you use her card to purchase a gift card, you can then use you own info as the buyer online and do the ATF 4473 when it gets to your FFL.
As long as your FFL knows you, or your girlfriend is there with you at transfer, its perfectly fine. I've done it 5 times. Only the paperwork at the FFA is important. I've used my wife's online, then transfered it to me when it arrived with my card. Enjoy!
To be honest, the mossberg that I got was purchased with a credit card owned by my wife. Everything was good. No worries. Your FFL will only likely take cash. Depending on their transfer policy expect to pay between 10-40 dollars. Cash usually
No. Gf bought me a gun for Xmas, has to ship under the same name as registered owner (at least in CA), Buds wouldn't release it.
