Doyle, this model is good to go Sir. That TV report was from a few years back actually. Remy has redeemed thine self since then. Cheers and stay safe!
The problem was with some of the old 700s and the issues were corrected the new ones are good to go
The Remington 770 is good to go as an everyday hunting rifle. It's just not the smoothest action. I sold a lot of them when I work at a gun shop and only a few came back to get sent out for repair
Only problem is they like to go drinking on a Saturday night and chase wimmin ! Other than that No !
The Remington 770 I had the bolt was sloppy! Shot ok... but hard to obtain a fast reload. Call a certified Gunsmith..... personally wouldn't own Another one! Get a Remington 700 BDL. Then u have A solid rifle and several options to upgrade!
