Mark, Taurus has come a long way with their quality control in recent years. I own 8 total Taurus handguns. 24/7 G2, G3, (4) G2C's, Raging Hunter 44Mag and Spectrum 380. In my opinion, yes! I have one, which is rare in California. They make them so well now. Keep in mind it is a 22. This model has shot bulk ammunition and high end match ammunition. I have has issues other than wanting to buy another one. It was my pleasure to assist you.

The TX 22 is a solid gun be aware that like most 22lr pistols it can be ammo picky and I recommend using CCI mini Mags (40 grain) for the 1st 300 or so rounds then try other ammo

I've owned several Taurus' over the years and found them to be extremely reliable. I don't know what the recent interest in 22's is lately, but if your intention is to carry for self defense, you probably ought not go lower than a .380. Taurus has developed an excellent reputation among gun guys, denied only by haters--who will always be out there--or gun snobs that are committed only to a certain brand that they own. The Taurus version of the Beretta 92, because of their innovation, is arguably a better gun than the gun it is modeled from, and the G2 is probably the biggest selling carry firearm in the country at it's price point, though it's budget price is deceptive. It is a great firearm that competes in quality with the high-end manufactured polymer guns. The days of "You always get as little or much as you pay for" with guns, is only partly true anymore.
