I have a S&W MP -2 compact with laser sight built in. I prefer one with a thumb safety. It is 9mm and works well as a CCW carry pistol
The Smith and Wesson 12415 does not have a thumb safety. The model with the thumb safety is the 12414. I own the S&W 12414 and it definitely comes with the thumb safety.
