correct stingers are hard on a semi auto gun "SAAMI has an established maximum chamber pressure for all 22 LR @ 24,000 psi +or- 300 psi. Stingers produce about the same chamber pressure, however because they use slower burning powder, it affects the timing cycle of blow back operated semi-autos (which applies to all 22 LR semi-autos). When a semi-auto is designed, the weight of the bolt (or slide) in conjunction with the compression rating of the recoil spring will keep the breach closed until the bullet is just about to exit the muzzle. At that time, there is enough remaining pressure in the barrel and chamber to thrust the bolt (or slide) back to cycle the gun. Herein lies the issue with Stingers. Slow burning powder develops about twice as much barrel pressure as a regular 22 LR cartridge at the point in time when the bullet exits the muzzle ... so it produces almost twice as much bolt thrust. Stingers are not recommended for semi-autos. Revolvers, single shots, and bolt actions are fine.

Jamie, as stated. Stingers are a little too pressure happy for the 22 Semi Auto firearms. Jamie, Save your money and get some good CCI mini-mags. The 1500 fps 22 lr is just a gimmick that made more problems then it solved.
