I would worry about the strength of the lower.

George, No way is the S&W 15-22 lower multi caliber. No, you can not put a 5.56 upper on a M&P 15-22 lower. The pins won't line up, and there is no buffer or buffer spring, or even a "buffer tube" for that matter... it is solid plastic.

George, no Sir. You would need a mil-spec rated lower with the standard trigger group. Cheers and stay safe!
