Can I have ammo shipped directly to my home or does it have to go through my local shop. I live in NY state but not in NYC. Its in Westchester County.

There is nothing in the law that says ammo cannot be shipped directly to an individual. Even with the passing of the Safe Act it was never illegal to ship ammunition to individuals. However many retailers will not ship to NYS, so good luck. Buds says;
No ammunition shipped directly to anyone in any of the following counties:
Bronx Kings
Nassau Queens
Richmond New York
