I have read many posts that say you can modify the M1A SOCOM 16 CQB to be NY legal by either using a fixed clip adapter or having the muzzle break welded. I do not want to purchase this rifle and attempt to make it legal myself as it would be illegal to have in NY.
Just wondering if there is a store or provider than can sell this rifle modified to meet NYS requirements.

If it has any (2) combination of Pistol Grip, Detachable Magazine or Muzzle Attachment (It only takes two to disqualify). Then No. I say no on Buds behalf in that Buds does not alter any firearms from the factory. It has to come to Buds in compliant configuration before they will ship to NYS. There does exist NYS legal versions from the factory.

Locally you probably can (within 100miles). Try Armslist.com. You are not the only New Yorker to want this. You can probably find one in state that's already modded. But as far as Buds or a retail store, they just won't do it. One gun sale isn't worth the legal risks they'd be taking.
