William, Smith & Wesson M&P 380 Shield EZ Front Sight is not dovetailed and has uses a Retaining Ring that retains the front sight on to the under side of the slide. Details here : https://www.midwestgunworks.com/page/mgwi/prod/3005540

William, Neither dovetailed or screwed on. Just held on the slide with a fastener on the inside of the slide.
