Harold, this rifle has a 4 round detachable box magazine. It will hold 5 rounds total with 1 round chambered and the box magazine full.

Harold, If you only load one. Otherwise it is a 4+1 capacity. If you have rounds in the detachable magazine it will cycle up to 4 additional rounds every time you fire and run the bolt.
