Stacy, the 22991 is the base Model. The 22931 has an upgraded trigger : 2 Stage Trigger - Free Float Hand Guard - and a higher quality treated BCG and adjustable gas block as upgrades over the 22991 model. Cheers and stay safe!.

Both models have those features. The newer model 22931 has a treated BCG and adjustable gas block as upgrades.
