How much you want to spend? The accessory rail on the SA XD will take many different weapon lights. here are the 850 light options at BUDs---------https://www.budsgunshop.com/search.php/type/Lights SureFire is the best weapon light on the market if you can find one.
Nathaniel, yes Sir it does. I highly recommend a compact unit for less added bulk and green laser for both day and night visibility. Most crimes happen at night and laser light is sufficient for target identification and makes you less of a target than a flashlight to an armed intruder. --- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pP_ivKUAj1Y ---------- You can find the best price on the CTC LASERGUARD SPRINGFIELD XD MOD 2G here : https://gun.deals/search/apachesolr_search/610242007592?is_firearms_wikiarms=0
Looks like everyone else pretty well answered your question, but I'd like to add something to James G's answer he says that " a laser is better then a flash light because a flashlight will make you a target" that statement is ridiculous and false. A weapon mounted light is extremely important on a deffensive fire arm, way more so then a laser, the light is for positive target identification, the last thing any of us want is to shoot our wife, kids, innocent person, a weapon light will help you identify threats, and be sure of your target and what lies beyond it. No matter the circumstances YOU are responsible for EVERY round that leaves you gun, with training and practice you can get on target with your iron sites, reddot, or laser, no amount of training will help you positively identify threats in pitch black like a weapons mounted light.
Oh and for a combo light laser if money is no object I'd go with a surefire X400, if more on a budget the O light Baldr is a good choice.
