Asked this questions many times and have gotten many different answers... I've heard that they are the same, that the cheaper model 22991 is just a promotional number being used and is the same as 22931. Savage says they don't carry a 22991. Another answer was the 22991 doesn't have the 2 position trigger nor the gas block. Just curious. Thanks

Michael, it's a shame that Savage, who built the rifles, have no knowledge of the 22991. Other than the information we look up on internet sources, we as customers as are you, don't have access to Buds inventory.

Buds has the 22991 at 7.9 pounds and the 22931 is advertised at 7.5 pounds. Not sure where the .4 pounds difference comes in, but it appears it is exactly the same. If the 22991 didn't have 2 stage trigger, i would assume the price would be different and it would be made known.In all reality, if it is that difficult to find data on the difference, if there even is one, it isn't significant enough to worry about.
