Jonathan, I have heard from other members that if magazine capacity is the ONLY state restriction that some Buds personnel have offered to remove/replace magazines. I would contact Buds Customer Service to see whether or not they will at 1-859-368-0371 9am-9pm EST Mon-Fri. or use the Blue Chat now button at the bottom right corner 9am to 9pm Mon - Sat and 9am to 7pm Sunday.

There is a tab underneath the picture that says "high capacity magazine removable" if you click that tab a window pops up that says the following. "Magazine Removal Service for State Compliance This firearm includes one or more High Capacity Magazines and therefore is not legal in all states. At your request, prior to shipping, we can remove these magazines. You can make this request after adding the firearm to your cart. These states / cities include but are not limited to: California, Washington, New York City, Chicago. Check with your local municipality about firearm and capacity restricitons." That is a copy and paste of Buds answer to that question. It looks like that item isn't currently in stock, but they do have a S&W shield in stock that comes with a 7rd and an 8rd magazine, and the crimson trace laser.
