there are no real options to improve the PT 740 slim trigger you can do some polishing to help with making it smoother
Timothy, the best "trigger job" you can do to a 709 is shooting about 300 rounds through it. Mine just got better after the 200 round mark. Clean it very well first, and lightly lube it and do the same after 100 and 200 rounds and you will be surprised at the improvement. Cheers and stay safe!
Timothy, Even though the pull is long and deep. The Taurus PT Slim models have fine self defense triggers. Double strike capability is nice feature. Put a thousand rounds through it. It will smooth out and grow on you. Carry a 709 slim everyday and love it.
