Great question. Impossible for ME to answer. I know they have insane amounts of testing in Ca, from melt tests, to drop tests, to safety tests. And many more tests. For whatever reason, Californian dictators determined this model to be Ca legal.

Certain testing like "Drop Test" have to be certified to get placed on the CA Approved Roster. Not all manufacturers have tested and certified all pistols in each test category (Even ones with identical specifications). CA is funny is that it requires independent testing/certification even with the same family of pistols. The truth of the matter is that CA want to make costs too high and testing requirements difficult and overly burdensome to cause manufacturers to just "Give Up". With the dwindling CA Roster, they are succeeding.
