That was an M91/38, very similar but a bit longer

Hi, This rifle is slightly shorter (17.7 inches instead of the 20.9) and lighter than M91/38. The sling swivels are mounted below the stock and barrel ring, instead of the sling swivels on the left side of the stock on the M91/38.

This rifle is shorter than the one used by Lee Harvey Oswald. In 1938, the basic Model 91 long rifle design was discontinued in favor of a new short rifle design. ------ https://jfkwitnesses.omeka.net/exhibits/show/investigators/item/325
