Can anyone compare the recoil of a bolt action 450 Bushmaster to the average 20 or 12 gauge slug gun? Looking at getting a Savage 110 Haymaker with a muzzle brake for deer in Ohio. Have used slug guns for years and just wondering how the recoil compares. Thank you.

Neal, the recoil is sharper but less than 20 or 12 ga slug loads. I would put the 450 Bushmaster at about 60% the recoil of a 12ga slug load.

Neal, Good muzzle break helps. My Mossberg Patriot Predator 450 Bushy does not have as much punch as 12 ga slugs. It's like a 30-06 with no muzzle break on it. Very manageable.Get the Savage 110 in 450 Bushmaster. You will not regret it. You will drop those Ohio whitetails where they stand.
