David, yes Sir. It has a 5.56 Chamber and will fire .223 ammunition no issue. Cheers and stay safe!

David, Yes both .223 and 5.56 NATO round will work safely in this sporting rifle. Can also put in 22 lr conversion bolt and magazine and shoot 22 lr rounds.
