Hi, As you probably realized that this is a .22lr rifle, it needed a lot of cleaning after firing. Generally, .22lr ammo is really dirty and can be finicky with firearm. You will encounter jams here and there as some .22lr ammo does not do well in semi auto rifle. All in all, its not that much worst than Ruger .22, just keep it clean and find brand of ammo it likes. Cheers.
Melvin, the Colt M$ AR-22 is as reliable as other 22 AR's Sir. Some reliability tests can be found on youtube here (22lr is inherently dirty so a frequent cleaning interval should be standard practice) : -- https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=colt+m4+ar+22lr
It is a good reliable gun however I would recommend the S&W M&P 1522 over it
Melvin, This is a good quality semi-auto rim fire firearm. All rim fire firearms will need to be cleaned occasionally to continue to function efficiently.
