Hi, I personally would not recommend this for a few reason, one is that the .45 ACP recoil might be too much for you, especially in sub-compact gun like this. Two, you might found slide to be hard to rack (especially true if you have arthritis). I think that M&P9 SHIELD EZ in 9mm or .380 is a much better alternative to this gun. The EZ models has easy to rack slide (this is the handgun easiest slide to rack out there) and other great safety features. The recoil is also extreme manageable compare to other pistol of its class.
