Hi, The answer to this question is complicated as there are multiple factors that is driving up the price (COVID, protests, election, etc). Your best bet wound be when COVID ended and after election....so like probably early 2021. We likely to see significant drop in sale and surplus of gun in market when that happened. But only time can tell as the election (and potential new gun laws ) may also drive up the demand next year too.
Jeff, I would get a shotgun whenever you could if you want one. You never know what is going to happen. If the incumbent is re-elected all firearms may be back to normal inventory in a year or so. So best case scenario look at late 2021 for things getting back to normal. Prices will never be like they were pre 2020 scamdemic.
Keep looking. Trucks are delivering things every day. When you find what you are looking for buy it if you can swing the payment.
Jeff, I use three websites currently to search real-time online firearms, ammunition and accessory inventories. --- https://www.wikiarms.com/ ------------ https://gun.deals/ ------------- https://ammoseek.com/
