Paul, I would not hesitate. I own several Magnum Research firearms and they are quality built and have strong support of which I only had to use once out of 5 MR firearms. Cheers and stay safe!
Hi, I want to point out a few things. Israeli made desert eagle 1911 is made by the same people who make BUL 1911 and re-branded as desert eagle. So, you might want to check out BUL 1911 too. My experience with them is they are good shooting with triggers better than some more expensive brands. They are good modern 1911 for the price. Tight fitting and no issue. Not the best but among the best of its class for sure (the best $700 1911). Also, I found a 1911 desert eagle on (1)un(2)roker for less than $1000. Replace (1) with G and (2) with B. I don't think you should pay $1k on it unless you really want one. I got mine for less than $800. I hope this helps.
Paul. Overpriced and dual recoil springs can be a problem. Not as dependable as a more conventional handgun. Big, heavy, and over sized. If you have some cash to blow, want a curious safe queen and don't have something better like ammo to buy go for it.I would not recommend it over just about any other quality handgun. More of a curiosity.
