Hi, Yes, this scope would be able to handle the recoil of an in-line 50 cal. muzzleloader. Simmons 8 Point is a very durable scope and I have a friend who also uses it on his 50 cal. muzzleloader. I hope this helps.
Looks like Trin already answered I was gonna say I have no experience with any muzzle loaders and reccomend you contact the manufacturer to ask them if its rated for that. Paul, this is a basic scope but will handle the recoil of a 50Cal Muzzleloader.
