Sandra, this is correct. At your local FFL you fill out Form 4473 and the Deal does the instant background Check. You just need your drivers license. Cheers and stay safe!
That is correct no special license required just pay the background check/transfer fee, not be a prohibited possessor (felon) and it is yours. I would recommend if this is your 1st modern sporting rifle (AR15) That you take a training class to learn all the ins and outs of how to safely and effectively use it. You can ask your FFL when you pick up the rifle if they can reccomend a training class in your area. If there are none available there ate many online resources available to help you get the knowledge you need.
That depends on what state you're in. If you live in one of the free 41 states, you're ok. The other 9 states will require a require a FID, Firearms ID Card, or FOID, Firearms Owner ID Card.
