Hi, There are a few reasons. One is as you stated above, for some gun, newer #s means improved or fixed or update or changes has been applied to them. In some cases, this would allow you to choose whether you want your gun with new updates/features or not. For other guns, older (or newer) #s can mean better quality due to changes in manufacturing. Secondly is the stylistic reason. Some people prefer certain #s for collectability (early #s can mean good demand for collection) or to have nice looking #s (just like vehicle number plate). For CZ shadow 2, the first point does not matter. There was cracking issue with pre-2018 model that caused some of the gun to crack around 8k rounds. The issue on the gun has been fixed and you shouldn't worry about Old or New. This left STYLE as the only real point why you would pick serial #. I hope this helps.

Paul, no Sir. This is an extra feature on certain firearms that allow collectors and folks that buy multiple firearms to be able to select their serial numbers. Some collectors like the choice to be able to select consecutive serial numbers. Cheers and stay safe!

Paul, No the different serial numbers are not better then any other serial number. It is just a service offered for sentimental sake for people.
